Gong Haiyan established Jiayuan Dating Website in 2003 and Xique in 2010. In 2007, she received 40 million RMB angel investments from the 3 founders of New Oriental – Xu Xiaoping, Wang Qiang and Qian Yongqiang and 10 million USD investment fund from Qiming Ventures. In July 2010, Jiayuan has over 50 million registered users and 54.41% of the market share, becoming the number one in the industry. The website soon went on the American stock exchange on 11 May 2011. After leaving Jiayuan, Gong Haiyuan established 91 Waijiao Website and ‘Ladder’, a quality education resource platform for primary and high school students.
